Description:

LOCOMAX 20W-40 R is designed for medium speed railroad diesel engines typically built prior to 1970.

Applications:

LOCOMAX 20W-40 R has been specifically formulated for the older diesel locomotive where the use of Zinc Free additives was not a prerequisite of the engine builders.
Unlike monograde engine oils, LOCOMAX 20W-40R allows easier starting and the maintenance of higher oils pressures throughout the working day and / or higher loading's. Due to the controlled viscosity across the working temperature range, governor issues during starting will be greatly reduced and remove the need for higher viscosity oils which can be troublesome when cold.
